Yaman Films’ principal is Selin Yaman. Selin’s career demonstrates a commitment to diverse and distinctive screen projects. In 2001, she began a three year collaboration with satirist John Safran and the result was the popular, award winning series JOHN SAFRAN’S MUSIC JAMBOREE. The follow up was JOHN SAFRAN VS GOD, an eight part exploration into religion which saw her lead a team to countries as diverse as Haiti, Mozambique and the US. Both series’ collected AFI awards, as well as Writers’ Guild Awards and LOGIE nominations.

Selin spent three years as Head of Production at leading Melbourne-based production company Renegade Films during a growth period which saw the production of television series’ ROCKWIZ (line producer), WILFRED and VASILI’S GARDEN. With Renegade Films, Selin produced the Screen Australia funded award winning animation INK, which has screened at festivals around the world.

Independently, Selin produced Amiel Courtin-Wilson’s short film ON THE OTHER OCEAN which screened at Melbourne Film Festival in 2006, the 2007 Adelaide Film Festival and 2007 Sydney Film Festival and as part of the FFC supported Pulse director’s showcase in LA in February 2008.

In 2008, she was selected to participate in the Rotterdam Producer’s Lab in conjunction with Cinemart. Selin has a degree in media and cinema studies, has studied screenwriting at RMIT and in 2008 completed a post graduate degree in business administration.
